THE SUM OF OUR CHOICES
"All of us start from zero. We are the sum total of our choices." -Woody Allen.

At a recent yoga class, the instructor told us that Virgo will have a full moon eclipse on March 14th, 2025. She continued by saying that this eclipse asks us to let go of the past and move forward into the future. As a Gemini, I will experience a more profound shift in my life, where I will carry some things from the past and release others to make room for the new. My thoughts drifted to a recent episode of the NBC show, The Irrational. The embedded message in this plot centered around the sum of our choices. Let's explore further.
Woody Allen reminds us that we all start with a Tabula rasa (a clean slate). As we proceed on our journey, we choose which part of the path we will continue, which requires decision-making. Anyone who has resided on this earth long enough knows we do not always make the right choice(s). We were often not well-informed, yet we made a choice regardless. Other times, we acted without speaking with good purpose or integrity. Astrologer Sade Jackson states that this eclipse in Virgo asks us to examine our work, purpose, and integrity. Not all choices are inadequate; we must shore up the rough edges. How do we accomplish these tasks?
Following Virgo's call to action, we need to be more mindful and thoughtful in our actions and words when faced with life's choices. Incorporate the lessons learned along the way, improve on what did not go well, and let go of what no longer serves you. Being human can be a humbling experience, and it is an individual choice that charts our course during this lifetime. This thought brings me back to the words of Dr. Alec Mercer from The Irrational.
In a recent episode, Dr. Mercer discussed a man who, on the surface, appeared to be a great humanitarian. However, deep at his core, this man was horrible, and his actions cut against the grain of his public persona. The episode concluded with the following wisdom from Dr. Mercer.
"All we are, any of us, is the sum of our choices . . . In the end, choosing compassion is what will save humanity."
Start with self-compassion, and work outward. Until next time-
Namaste,
Tim
